Welcome to Reciproc! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Reciproc mobile application and related services ("Service"). By creating an account or using Reciproc, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Reciproc
- You must provide accurate and truthful information
- You must be legally able to enter into binding contracts
- Previously banned users are not permitted to create new accounts
2. Purpose of the Service
Reciproc is a community help exchange platform that connects neighbors for micro-favors and tasks. Users earn HelpCoins by helping others and spend them to receive help. This is a peer-to-peer marketplace for local community assistance.
3. Account Responsibilities
- Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials
- You are responsible for all activity under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- Do not share your account with others
- Provide accurate skills and location information
4. User Conduct
You agree NOT to:
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent help requests
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
- Discriminate based on race, religion, gender, or other protected characteristics
- Request or offer illegal services
- Solicit payment outside the Reciproc platform
- Misrepresent your skills or availability
- Spam users with unwanted messages
- Use the platform for commercial business purposes
- Attempt to hack or exploit the Service
5. Help Requests and Tasks
- Requesters must provide clear, accurate task descriptions and appropriate HelpCoin amounts
- Helpers must complete tasks as agreed and communicate professionally
- Both parties should coordinate timing and details via in-app chat
- Tasks must be legal, safe, and comply with local laws and regulations
- Reciproc is not responsible for the quality of services provided
6. HelpCoins and Payments
- HelpCoins are virtual credits used within the platform
- 1 HelpCoin ≈ $1 USD in value
- You earn HelpCoins by helping others and completing tasks
- You spend HelpCoins to receive help from others
- Purchase HelpCoins via Stripe (subject to a 10% platform fee on cashouts only)
- HelpCoins have no cash value and cannot be transferred outside Reciproc
- All purchases are final and non-refundable except where required by law
7. Reviews and Ratings
- Users can rate and review each other after task completion
- Reviews must be honest and based on actual experiences
- Fake reviews or review manipulation is prohibited
- We may remove reviews that violate our policies
8. Content and Intellectual Property
- You retain ownership of content you post (photos, descriptions, etc.)
- You grant Reciproc a license to use your content to operate the Service
- All Reciproc branding, logos, and app features are our intellectual property
- You may not copy, modify, or redistribute our content
9. Safety and Disclaimers
- Reciproc connects community members but does not guarantee safety or outcomes
- We do not conduct background checks on users
- Use caution when meeting strangers and sharing personal information
- Meet in public places when possible and trust your instincts
- Report suspicious behavior or safety concerns immediately
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Reciproc and its team are not liable for:
- Damages arising from use of the Service
- Quality of services provided by users
- Disputes between users
- Lost HelpCoins due to account issues or disputes
- Data breaches or unauthorized access
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
Our total liability shall never exceed the amount you paid to Reciproc in the past 12 months.
11. Account Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
- You violate these Terms or our Community Standards
- We detect fraudulent or harmful activity
- You receive multiple negative reviews or reports
- We discontinue the Service
You may delete your account at any time in app settings.
12. Dispute Resolution
- Users are encouraged to resolve disputes directly through our support system
- Reciproc may mediate disputes but is not obligated to do so
- Unresolved disputes may be subject to binding arbitration in accordance with the laws of California, USA
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. We will notify users of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
